Gender Report

The Gender Report is a fundamental tool for analysing and transparently communicating the impact of the University’s policies, resources, and activities from a gender perspective. The document provides a snapshot of the university community, highlighting strengths, critical issues, and areas for improvement.

Why a Gender Report?

The Gender Report is not only a regulatory requirement (as provided for by Ministerial Decree no. 567/2021), but also a concrete step toward building a more equitable, inclusive university that is attentive to equal opportunities. It serves to:

  • monitor the presence and career paths of women and men across different roles and levels
  • promote balanced participation in academic life and in governance bodies
  • identify actions and tools to support work-life balance and counter inequalities
  • enhance diversity as a resource for innovation and growth

The Gender Report at UniGe

The University of Genoa prepared its first Gender Report in 2019, in response to the provisions of the Positive Action Plan 2017–2020, with the aim of equipping the University with a tool for collecting and analysing data at both local and national level, assessing the impact of its policies on women and men, and enabling the planning of actions to address situations of inequality.
