Clinical and Guidance Counselling Service

The Clinical and Guidance Counselling Service is a service offered by the University to promote the well-being of its staff in the workplace.

The world of work is generally characterised by values such as productivity, performance, organisation, planning, and the optimisation of time and resources. This way of interpreting working life is predominantly based on rational thinking.

However, to achieve a balance that positively affects performance and productivity, human beings also need to experience their working life by taking into account the emotional factors involved. These influence overall well-being and interpersonal relationships.

Each person contributes to creating a positive work environment. Awareness of the interdependence among people working in the same sector, field, or office is the foundation for meaningful and positive change.

The arrival of the pandemic and its impact on both personal and professional life have further transformed workplace “culture” and organisational environment. The emergence of external factors perceived as beyond one’s control has, in many cases, generated feelings of helplessness, dysphoric mood, anxiety, uncertainty, and concern.

Guidance-psychological counselling can provide valuable support in finding new energy to face difficulties. Dialogue and clarity help unlock new resources.
