Support Service for Staff with Disabilities

This service could be more precisely defined as a Listening and Support Service for Staff with Disabilities and Workplace Inclusion.

It provides a dedicated time and space for listening and support, aimed at promoting well-being in the workplace for staff with disabilities. At the same time, it's an opportunity for dialogue and reflection on how to adapt the work environment and organisational structures, including the implementation of personalised adjustments and accommodations tailored to conditions of disability, illness, or vulnerability. The aim is to enable individuals to carry out and continue their work effectively and under equal opportunities.

Inclusion is not a one-way process: there is no one who includes and someone who must be included (as this would maintain a logic of inequality). Rather, it is mutual, based on exchange and a shared, participatory path. Within this perspective, workers with disabilities - experts in their own condition - take on an active role as key agents in promoting inclusive culture and practices.

Staff with disabilities, as well as those experiencing illness or vulnerability, can use the email address accompagnamentodisabili@unige.it to request both individual or organisational consultations. They are invited to share the issues they consider most relevant: the difficulties and obstacles they encounter, their needs and resources, possible ways to address specific challenges, and the most appropriate language to use.

These contributions and reports will serve as valuable input for understanding, raising awareness, and the development of an inclusive culture and policies within the University.
