Statute and Regulations

The Committee for Equal Opportunities (CPO) is a central University body governed by Article 27 of the Statute of the University of Genoa.

The Committee promotes equal opportunities for all members of the university community by proposing to the University’s governing bodies and the General Directorate measures and actions aimed at preventing and combating all forms of discrimination based on sex, race, ethnic origin, religion, personal beliefs, disability, age, and sexual orientation (Art. 27, paragraph 4, University Statute).

The Committee consists of ten members:

  • four, of whom at least two must be women, are elected from among the technical-administrative staff
  • four, of whom at least two must be women, are elected from among the teaching staff
  • two, of whom at least one must be a woman, are elected by student representatives in the governing bodies

One member of the Committee is elected as President by the Committee itself.

The Committee also operates in accordance with the regulations of the Committee for Equal Opportunities.
