In a constantly evolving society, it is essential that the University positions itself as an agent of change by adopting non-sexist and non-discriminatory language. The publication of the guidelines for the use of inclusive language represents an opportunity for all members of the university community to raise awareness, within the broader effort to create a study and work environment that is truly inclusive and attentive to recognising and removing all forms of discrimination, starting with gender-based discrimination.
The text, available as an attachment and at the following link, reflects the commitment undertaken by the University of Genoa in two strategic documents: the Positive Action Plan (Action 24: Awareness-raising for the non-sexist use of institutional language) and the Gender Equality Plan (Action 0.1: Adoption of institutional and administrative language respectful gender-wise).
