Abilità atletiche: il postcast

The podcast explores the photo exhibition "Abilità atletiche" (Athletic Abilities), a project celebrating sport as a space of freedom, expression, and identity. Its goal is clear: to promote inclusive sports capable of valuing every form of talent and diversity.

Through authentic and powerful portraits, the exhibition redefines the concept of ability beyond aesthetic standards and conventional categories. Featuring bionic bodies, athletes with disabilities, transgender individuals, and stories of illness and overcoming cultural barriers, each photograph captures strength, beauty, and transformation.

Spanning from the exhibition to the audio realm, the podcast brings these images to life through narrative description—giving a voice to those faces and sharing their stories even with those who are visually impaired. It is a podcast born from a desire to be fully inclusive, embracing every person, every story, and every difference through art.

Conceived by Sabrina Dapino (University of Genoa) and created alongside photographer Francesca Ricciardi, the project emerged from the second edition of the Growing the Future conference. It weaves together research, art, and inclusion to build a new narrative of sport: one that is more human, genuine, and free.
