EO Ospedali Galliera, via volta 8
In healthcare, communication between patients and service providers is a fundamental requirement across all care pathways. In this regard, inclusive and effective communication strategies serve as key interventions in tackling health inequalities.
Organized by the Equal Opportunities Committee (CPO) and the Single Committee for Equal Opportunities (CUG) of the University of Genoa, in collaboration with Ente Ospedaliero Ospedali Galliera (CUG and SC Quality & Communication) and in partnership with the AQuAA Association (Association for the Quality of Administrative Documents), this workshop marks the third event hosted by UniGe under the European projects AMIF MentalHealth4All, Jean Monnet module Santé, and Erasmus+ Dialogos, aimed at improving equity in healthcare access and information.
The Joint Workshop 2025 aims to explore strategies for improving communication for healthcare service users by developing shared interprofessional training pathways. This open workshop is designed for students, healthcare and patient communication practitioners, as well as advocacy and user organizations.
The programme includes a keynote address by Maria Emanuela Piemontese (La Sapienza University of Rome) followed by three parallel hands-on group sessions to examine specific communication challenges in healthcare:
Working with words: Rules for clear writing
Working with tools: Technologies for simplifying specialized texts
Working with images: Barriers and stereotypes in visual communication
Participation is free of charge, but places are limited.
Registration is required, along with selecting your preferred group session:
Certificates of attendance will be issued upon completion.
