On Saturday, 31 January, the Teatro Modena in Genoa presents "Fratelli" (Brothers), an all-ages (tout public) performance produced by Teatro La Ribalta. This intense and poetic theatrical show explores the relationship between two brothers, one of whom lives with a disability and is locked within his own language. Directed by Antonio Viganò, the production is an "emotional journey" built on danced movement, brief narratives, and vulnerability. Critically acclaimed, Fratelli journeys into the heart of human relationships without attempting to understand everything: when words fall short, patience, presence, and listening take over. Director Antonio Viganò writes: "Samonà's novel—on which the show is loosely based—invites us to search for the Other, the different, without ever tiring. To seek them out, even when we feel we have already found them."

The performance aims to raise awareness. The company describes their vision: "We are aware that only through high-quality artistic practice and a deep work ethic can we defeat prejudice, shift paradigms, provoke thought, and move audiences. We consciously escape any pitying, overly affectionate, or consoling gaze—a claim that many find difficult to bear and understand. We do not want to be a 'socially useful' project, but a 'culturally necessary' one. The more culturally impactful we are, the more we become a genuine theatrical entity, the more we reclaim our 'diversity', and the more we become multipliers of difference."
