Enrollment open for the 12th edition of the free MOOC course Linguaggio, identità di genere e lingua italiana
A free 20-hour online course, organized by Ca' Foscari University of Venice, is now available on the EduOpen platform. A detailed exploration of gender-inclusive language and key linguistic issues.
Course Introduction: How do we address women in government and leadership roles? Does a default neutral gender exist in Italian? How does the Italian language refer to women? How does language shape cultural and, in particular, gender identity? In this course, we will develop linguistic meta-competence covering the morphological, syntactic, and semantic properties of Italian, enabling informed and well-grounded language choices that promote gender equality.
